Matthew R. Gilbert, ESQ. is a Senior Associate Attorney at District Legal Group PLLC. With over a decade of experience as the Founder and Managing Attorney of MRG Law PLLC in Waterloo, Iowa, Matthew brings an impressive breadth of legal expertise to the nation’s capital.
A graduate of Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa, Matthew earned his Master of Laws (LLM) in Tax and International Business Law and his Juris Doctor with a Certificate in Business Law. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.
Matthew’s practice spans a wide range of legal disciplines, including business formation and dissolution, commercial transactions, tax law, probate, trusts and estates, real estate transactions and disputes, ERISA, intellectual property, and contract negotiations. He has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and collaborative processes.
In addition to his legal practice, Matthew has served as General Counsel for nonprofits, privately held companies, and publicly traded corporations. He has advised stakeholders across a diverse set of industries, including real estate, food, healthcare, media and technology, cultural heritage, entertainment, and private equity.
